Laser Cleaning

Non-contact, chemical-free surface cleaning using focused laser beams. Perfect for rust removal, paint stripping and precision surface preparation.

The Precision Alternative

Laser cleaning (also known as laser ablation) is a modern, environmentally-friendly method that uses focused laser beams to vaporise contaminants like rust, paint, oil and coatings directly off a surface. The base material — steel, aluminium, stone or wood — remains completely untouched.

Unlike traditional methods, laser cleaning uses no chemicals, no water, no abrasive media and leaves no secondary waste behind. It's a genuine dry, dust-collected process that's safe around electronics and delicate features.

How It Works

1

Selective Absorption

The contaminant layer (rust, paint, oxide) absorbs the laser's light energy while the base material below reflects or transmits it — so only the unwanted material is affected.

2

Rapid Vaporisation

The absorbed energy instantly heats the contaminant, converting it to gas or fine particles that are safely extracted by our fume capture system.

3

Adjustable Precision

Power, frequency, beam speed and width are all tunable — meaning we can clean steel, aluminium, plastics or coated substrates with exactly the right settings for each job.

What It's Ideal For

  • Rust removal from automotive & industrial parts
  • Paint & coating stripping (selective layer removal)
  • Weld preparation on steel and alloys
  • Mould & tooling maintenance in production
  • Historical artefact & heritage restoration
  • Oxide, oil & grease removal from metal
  • Precision surface prep for bonding
  • Aerospace, rail & marine component cleaning

Laser or Dry Ice — Which Do You Need?

We offer both because they're brilliant at different things. As a rule of thumb:

Choose Laser Cleaning For

  • • Rust & heavy oxidation removal
  • • Paint & coating stripping
  • • Precision weld preparation
  • • Historical & delicate restoration

Choose Dry Ice Blasting For

  • • Oil, grease & grime removal
  • • Large-area engine bays & chassis
  • • Complex geometries with lots of nooks
  • • Electronics & wiring-heavy areas

Not sure which fits your job? Send us photos and we'll recommend the right method — often the best result comes from combining both in one visit.
